Guide to selecting accessories for the top three German brands: Audi/Volkswagen/Porsche exclusive pitfalls and upgrade strategies

1、 Essential safety components: German cars prioritize "precision gene" adaptation
German cars have much higher requirements for component accuracy than ordinary models, especially for braking and filtering systems, which can easily lead to malfunctions if selected incorrectly. The following three types of accessories must identify "brand compatibility".
1. Braking system: Porsche wants performance, Volkswagen Audi balances
Although the three major brands of braking systems belong to the Volkswagen Group's supply chain, their tuning directions are completely different.
Porsche: focuses on high-performance braking and is often equipped with Brembo carbon ceramic brake pads/calipers. For daily replacement, it is recommended to choose OE grade products of the same brand or AP Racing compatible models. Attention should be paid to the size differences of calipers in 911, Cayenne and other models (such as the front calipers of Cayenne being 6-piston and 911 being 4-piston). If you frequently drive on the track, you can upgrade the lined brake discs with heat dissipation holes to improve heat resistance.
Audi pays attention to braking smoothness and quietness. Family car models such as A4L and Q5L often use Bosch ATE brake pads from the factory, which have low dust characteristics and are suitable for urban commuting; It is recommended to choose the original high-performance brake kit for the S/RS performance series (such as RS6) to avoid mixing ordinary Audi parts and resulting in insufficient braking force.
Volkswagen: With economic durability as the core, entry-level OE models such as the Lavida and Sagitar can be selected from Bosch and Philodo, while large-sized SUVs such as Touareg require brake pads with higher load index (recommended ≥ 100) to prevent brake attenuation.
Avoiding pitfalls: The brake pad calipers of the three types of brands have different interfaces, and even if the sizes are similar, they cannot be used interchangeably. When purchasing from Shopify, please note the specific configuration of the car model (such as "Audi A6L 2023 45 TFSI").
2. Filter element: Volkswagen and Audi can be used interchangeably, Porsche needs to use it exclusively
Thanks to modular platforms such as MQB and MLB, some Volkswagen and Audi filters can be interchangeable, but Porsche requires exclusive adaptation:
Air filter: The Volkswagen Lavida and Audi A3 (both on the MQB platform) can share the MAN C27108, but the Porsche Macan needs to choose the MAN C301000, whose filtration accuracy is optimized for turbocharged engines and can reduce carbon deposits.
Air conditioning filter: It is recommended to choose the MAN FP series with activated carbon for all Audi models (such as the Audi A6L compatible with FP 2939), which can filter PM2.5 and exhaust odors; Porsche 718 and other convertible models require a waterproof filter element to prevent moisture and mold on rainy days.
Oil filter: The three major brands all recommend the Mahler OC series, but Porsche needs to identify the "Porsche Approved" certified version (such as OC 614/3), otherwise it may affect engine warranty.
